Insight into some of the possible futures or pasts raised as an interesting phenomenon which in 1983. artist Lloyd Dunn named retro-futurism. Retro-futurism sees the future through the past or through an utopian society that is characterized by high technology, unusual or excessive artistic, architectural and fashion styles. Steampunk is slightly more extreme version of retro-futurism that successfully combines a variety of scientific findings from the Victorian era with the elements of science fiction. Its name comes from a SF writer K. W. Jeter.
